The COVID-19 pandemic has been very hard for restaurants and bars across New Orleans. Sadly, some of our favorite spots had to close, after many months of being closed to reduce cases in Louisiana. NOLA is finally coming back to life and new places are opening, promising to bring that magical ambiance the whole city is known for. One of those places is the Will & Way Wine Bar, located where the Longway Tavern used to be.

About The Will & The Way

It has opened this 2021 as an act of social restoration. After an eerily quiet year in the French Quarter, we all craved the warmth and friendliness that has made our neighborhood a beloved destination for locals and travelers alike. Located at the heart of Toulouse Street, an iconic block for drinking and nightlife, you’ll find a carefully preserved 18th-century building. The architecture and brick-lined courtyard are a testament to the countless New Orleanians who have raised toasts and made mischief, no matter what storm, prohibition, or pandemic comes their way.

Food + Drink

The menu caters to impromptu dining, with Southern-leaning small plates that pair perfectly with cocktails as an appetizer or a nightcap. For those who choose to linger longer, they’ll find the bar-setting burger (with shoestring fries and aioli) that begs to be paired with a leggy red or a perfectly chilled High Life. So whether you stay longer than expected or swing by for just one round, these tightly curated, snackable plates are sure to match your appetite.

From charcuterie and handcrafted burgers to salads and bar snacks, the menu is designed for a casual afternoon in the Quarter or meeting a group for wine. Forks and knives are optional, and everything tastes better with a friendly little pour from the bar. From pre-bottled cocktails to surprisingly tasty everyday wines, our laid-back hospitality and approachable style are designed to make you feel right at home.

Longway Tavern closed, breaking our hearts. However, we’ve got good news because, in its place, The Will and The Way have opened their doors. This is a laid-back French Quarter wine-forward and cocktail bar from LeBlanc+Smith.
