A St. Augustine, Florida staple has found a second home in New Orleans, Louisiana – bringing their signature Latino flair to NOLA. The Big Easy is both known as a cocktail mecca and plays host to Tales of the Cocktail, the drinks industry’s largest conference. Odd Birds at Selina officially opened its doors on May 16, 2022, after only 20 days of signing the agreement. Together with the hotel, the team was able to renovate the charming space and make this new opportunity a reality.
Odd Birds at Selina features two areas for guests to enjoy; the downstairs bar and the rooftop. Downstairs, Odd Birds has delicately revamped the former Pisco Bar, a well-known and popular bar among locals. The black and white flooring and natural light will make for the perfect spot to take photos while enjoying the new Arepa Bar, a replica of the bar at Odd Bird’s original pop-up location in downtown St. Augustine, which opened in 2015. On the beautiful rooftop, Odd Birds at Selina focuses on Rum and Mezcal cocktails.
Odd Birds Group, owned by Cesar Diaz, Asdrubal Martinez, and Shane McFarland, continues to operate Odd Birds Cocktail Lounge + Kitchen, located at 200 Anastasia Boulevard on Anastasia Island, and Odd Birds Cafe, located at 121 Yacht Club Drive near Vilano Beach – both in St. Augustine, Florida. The team is excited to represent both Latin and St. Augustine flavors in another historic city.
Odd Birds at Selina is located in the heart of downtown New Orleans at 914 Union Street. The downstairs features an indoor area and outdoor patio, complete with string lights, exposed brick, and a three-story-tall mural. The rooftop is partially covered and has plenty of seating to enjoy a beautiful day before or after sightseeing at any of the nearby attractions like Bourbon Street, the French Quarter, the St. Charles streetcar line, and more.
Odd Birds at Selina will host a series of Grand Opening events from Thursday, June 30th through Sunday, July 3rd to coincide with ESSENCE Festival of Culture, the largest concert event to celebrate African-American culture and musical contributions in the United States.
