The dance hall is scheduled to reopen this week!
Mulate’s Cajun Restaurant broke our heart last year when they announced in March that they would close temporarily to comply with state and local emergency declarations for COVID-19. However, they promised to evaluate the situation on a week-to-week basis to reopen as soon as possible.
More than a year after that, Mulate’s is ready to reopen. They have announced they will be returning as a restaurant from July 2, with music events on pause until further notice. It looks like we will have to wait a few weeks (hopefully) until we can enjoy live music and dancing on their dancefloor.
Mulate’s will start with limited opening hours, only for dinner Thursday and Friday and lunch and dinner over the weekend. They will move forward, extending hours as tourism in NOLA gradually recuperates, hoping to open entirely by September.
In recent years, Mulate’s had become one of the few venues that would host Cajun music in New Orleans. People of all ages would fill the dance floors while eating classic dishes like gumbo. Oh how we’ve missed it!
Will you head over this weekend?
