New Orleans takes the cake when it comes to BBQ!
Online magazine ChefPencil.com have declared that New Orleans is home to the best BBQ food in the United States. The publication used every TripAdvisor rating from the 75 largest cities across the nation.
NOLA came out on top, but the list has received major backlash, and a lot of laughs, as the majority of the South isn’t on the list. Specifically the entirety of Texas!

Some people are also confused by the inclusion of cities like Seattle and Newark, with one Twitter user sarcastically describing the New Jersey city as the “bastion of barbecue.”
But here at Secret New Orleans, we think New Orleans deserves some recognition for the BBQ on offer. Head to Blue Oak BBQ. Try their BBQ Shrimp & Grits, with their Burnt End Hash on the side. You won’t regret it!
Or head to Bywater’s The Joint for slow-smoked barbecue. The quirky space serves up delicious BBQ. Their ribs are the star of their extensive menu.
Find Blue Oak BBQ at 900 N Carrollton Ave, 70119. The Joint is located at 701 Mazant St, New Orleans, LA 70117.
