Are you tired of hectic city life? Bayou Segnette Park is the perfect place for a close-by weekend getaway. Just a short drive across the Mississippi River, you’ll find activities for the whole family.
One of the unique perks of the 650-acre park is renting one of the cozy floating cabins to stay overnight. These accommodations are not pricey and offer great views of the river and all of the wildlife in and around it. Groups of up to six people fit inside just one!
Check-in time to the cabins is usually 3:00 pm with the check-out at 11 am. They have central air conditioning, hot water, bunk beds, sleepers, dish-washer, kitchen utensils, microwave, oven, and television. Only some of them are pet-friendly so don’t forget to bring your pup!
It doesn’t matter if you choose a one-night stay or a whole weekend escape; there’s enough terrain to explore and 24 hours full of sports, nature, and more.
Some of the recreational activities you can do at the park are:
- Boating
- Fishing – Bass, catfish, bream, perch, redfish, and trout are common in the area.
- Camping
- Canoeing
- Hiking – There’s a beautiful 2.8-mile nature trail
- Picnicking
- Swimming in the wave pool – Closed until further notice, but we’ll keep you posted about the reopening!
- Wildlife watching
