1. Celebrate Women’s History Month by visiting monuments honoring historical women in NOLA

2. Buy new books at the New Orleans Book Festival
The most significant event for literature lovers is returning to New Orleans this March. The multi-day event features readings, panel discussions, book presentations, and speeches. It’ll take place from March 10-12 at Tulane University.
3. Watch a documentary at the French Film Festival
The Festival is on March 11-17 at the historic Prytania Theatre, where film and documentary lovers can take a first look at short films and documentaries in French with subtitles in English. Tickets can be purchased on their official website.
4. Catch a parade on St. Paddy’s Day
Celebrate St Paddy’s Day at the Irish Channel block party on Thursday, March 17 at 1:00 pm. Many restaurants and bars will join the party offering unique dishes and cocktails.
5. Kick-off crawfish season

6. Celebrate the US Navy at the Blue Angels Naval Air Show
A spectacle in the sky will happen from March 19-20 with an entire weekend celebrating America’s top aviators. Static displays of planes and military equipment will also be open at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans in Belle Chasse.
7. Take a close-up look at Mardi Gras at this exhibit
The Historic New Orleans Collection has a free show-stopping exhibition where tourists and locals can get a close-up look at all the work behind every Mardi Gras Carnivals. The display includes hand-painted coconuts, costumes, and float artists. We’ve got more information here.
8. Learn more about the life of Nefertari at the NOMA
NOMA presents Queen Nefertari’s Egypt on view from March 18 through July 17, 2022. Ticketholders will be able to see artifacts that provide a comprehensive view into the power and influence of women during the period known as “The New Kingdom.” For more details, read this.
