The Satchmo SummerFest 2021 will be the first live, in-person music festival held in NOLA since the COVID breakout.
Good news, jazz lovers! After missing out on the annual celebration of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong’s legacy last year due to covid, we’ll be able to be part of it again this year. The Satchmo SummerFest 2021 is coming back just as you remember it. Held on the grounds of the Old U.S Mint, at the foot of Esplanade Avenue, the Festival will be held from July 31 to August 1.
Organizers have said that the festival will be modified slightly to adhere to the CDC guidelines and protocols, making it safe for all music lovers. The protocols that will be in place are still unclear.
This is the perfect festival for Jazz Music lovers, especially if you’re not really into crowded festivals like the JazzFest. The festival will have two stages with different musicians on each one.
The music lineup includes:
- Lawrence Cotton Legendary Experience
- Shake Em’Up Jazz Band
- James Andres
- The Original Pinettes Brass Band
Check out the full line up here.
The festival also features delicious local food and drinks to cool you off. The culinary lineup has not been released yet but will be announced later this month. We’ll keep you posted!
