It’s Pride Month, and New Orleans has so much going on!
Although NOLA has it’s own way of celebrating Pride during Labor Day weekend with Southern Decadence, Pride Month is still a very exciting time for the LGBTQI+ communities in New Orleans.
The oldest gay bar in the United States, Cafe Lafitte in Exile is providing the city with an excellent line-up events across New Orleans.
It all kicks off with their Opening Ceremony on June 10th, specifically honoring our country’s LGBTQIA+ service members at the gay bar itself. There will be events throughout the month at several locations including at excellent Drag Brunch at Mags with their Breakfast with Princesse Stephaney, taking place on June 11th. For the full list of events, click here.
However, it doesn’t stop there. There are more events separate from Cafe Lafitte in Exile, including the Faubourg Pride Fest commencing on June 4th and lasting for the weekend. The event will host live music, drag, food, and LGBTQ+ discussions, with proceeds from merchandise benefiting Forum for Equality, Louisiana’s LGBTQ+ human rights organization. Check out their Facebook Event page for more information.
We’re committed to providing New Orleans with the best Pride plans, so keep an eye out for more exciting happening this month on our site.
Be loud and proud, New Orleans!
