House Float Phenomenon Continues With Pride Decorations Taking Over NOLA!

By Jack Rattenbury

NOLA’s has never been more colorful thanks to Pride house floats.

This year, the way we’ve celebrated every major New Orleans event has completely changed. Although things are swinging into our new normal just in time to celebrate Pride Month, the house float craze that swept Mardi Gras earlier this year is getting a Pride glow-up.

Houses across the city have been decked out with rainbow attire, like the one pictured above (@bywaterparlor on Instagram). Some houses are promoting inspiring messages for the LGBTQI+ communities across New Orleans, and messages calling for equality for all, specifically the transgender community and QTBIPOC.

You can view a map of all the houses taking part in the project on Pride NOLA’s site. Krewe of Pride (House) Floats are popping up all over the place, specifically Bywater! We hope to round up all our favorite soon. Make sure you tag us on Instagram in all your NOLA Pride pics to feature on our site or socials.

There’s so much going on for Pride, check out what we think you check out this month. We’re so excited to bring New Orleans all the goings on in the city to guarantee a fabulous Pride.
