1. New Orleans Public Library
The New Orleans Public Library opened in December of 1958 and offers a wide collection of books, music, and movies. Pick up a book and enjoy it inside its cultural walls.

2. Latter Memorial Library
This library is in a historic building that provides a warm and comfortable atmosphere for all readers. There’s a book sale on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and there’s also outdoor space with benches to enjoy the sunlight.

3. Carousel Bar
This is a classic bar at the Hotel Monteleone with a circular bar that revolves like a carousel. If you don’t mind reading in a noisy place, this is perfect. You’ll be able to enjoy your book while sipping on a cocktail overlooking Royal Street.

4. Lakefront
The lake is a New Orleans staple. Sit on a bench and clear your mind looking at the water. It’s a spacious place for bike riders and walkers—the ideal place to flick through a magazine or a romantic novel.

5. City Park
City Park is one of the largest parks in the nation. Sit underneath a tree and enjoy your book.

6. Audubon Park
Audubon Park is located in historic uptown. It’s one of the favorite spots for recreation, picnics, and relaxing. There’s a walking path with plenty of seating options. Prepare a picnic, take your blanket and read while having a bite.

7. Rue de la Course
This coffee shop will transport you to another time. Their menu includes daily brews, cappuccinos, teas, Italian creme sodas, and yummy food. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in case your dog is with you.

8. Lafayette Square
This is a beautiful, memorable square in NOLA. Lafayette provides an open space with benches, statues, flowers and trees.
