Rest in Perfection, Chi Chi DeVayne!
Viewers were moved to tears after RuPaul’s tribute to lost Louisiana legend Chi Chi DeVayne. Chi Chi competed in the eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Last year, she sadly passed away at the age of 38 following complications from a bout of pneumonia.
Her fellow Drag Race sisters payed homage to the Bayou Queen with personal video messages during a touching montage.
Forever a star. We love and miss you, Chi Chi 🖤🕊 #DragRace pic.twitter.com/MnrbeHEXBT

Good friends and fellow queens like Bob The Drag Queen and Kennedy Davenport were just some of the people who made touching tributes.
Bob said: “Chi Chi was one of those folks who was loved by everyone, everyone who met Chi Chi truly loved her energy. She was a show-stopping – and I mean a show-stopping performer.”
Kim Chi, who joined Chi Chi on season eight added, “You’re one of the best performers I’ve ever met. You’d be taking a nap, up until the moment your music starts playing, and then you’d run up on stage and do 10 backflips and cartwheels.”
One of the closing statements of the montage came from Chi Chi herself who stated, “Never be ashamed of how you walk, talk because that is going to be the key to your success.”
The touching video montage was played during the season finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race last Friday night. A true reflection for the Louisiana Queen who’ll always be remembered for her unapologetic charm, and showgirl grace. Rest in peace, power and perfection, Chi Chi.
