Celebration In The Oaks is only in town for one more week!
Celebration In The Oaks is hands down one of the most spectacular light displays in the country and, according to Condé Nast Traveler, one of the best in the world!
The annual holiday tradition is a breathtaking light festival where visitors can see City Park’s majestic oak trees draped in over 1 million sparkling lights. As if City Park weren’t already 1,300 acres of pure magic! The historic park already boasts the world’s largest stand of mature oak trees, one of which is over 8 centuries old.
Celebration In The Oaks is City Park’s biggest annual fundraiser, attracting more than 165,000 visitors in previous years, and boy do they bring on the holiday cheer.
2020 marks the 35th anniversary of the enchanting transformation, and this year brings with it a new way to experience the magic.
This year’s festivities have returned to New Orleans as a 2.25 mile driving tour of the Park, with add-on tickets available for extra activities in Carousel Gardens. Visitors can purchase a special 2020 Commemorative Ornament to add some extra holiday flare to their tree, and participate in activities like a train ride, marshmallow roasting, access to photo areas and visits to Storyland and Children’s Christmas trees.
This is a winter spectacle you don’t want to miss, so get your cameras ready and be prepared to be filled with enough holiday cheer to last the whole season!
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and cost $18.99 – $32.99 for cars and SUVs, $65 – $99 for limos and $125 – $175 for mini buses. The fundraiser runs through January 3 (closed December 24 and 31). Find more information about this magical event here.
