Baru Bistro & Tapas, Chef Edgar Caro’s Latin Caribbean restaurant, will offer a special Valentine’s Day menu for 2022.
The Feb. 14 four-course meal will feature caviar, arepa de choclo and creme fraiche de suero for the first course. The second course includes tupinambo soup, Jerusalem artichoke heart chips, spiced hazelnuts, and arugula pistou. Options for the third course are pan-fried red snapper with a fresh-shaved coconut and mint salad and crushed peanuts; or pistachio and black-eyed pea-crusted grilled swordfish with spinach and Hoja Santa vichyssoise; or lomo with bone marrow malbelaise sauce, crushed potatoes with roasted garlic and herbs and pickled grilled kale. The fourth course will be a choice of chocolate torte with macerated berries and hazelnut and sesame brittle; or Maduros Foster with Barbados rum sauce and vanilla bean ice cream.
The cost per person for the special Valentine’s Day four-course dinner is $80.00.

Located at 3700 Magazine St. in New Orleans, Baru sustained damage during Hurricane Ida in September 2021 and has recently reopened for dinner service, Monday through Saturday. Baru adheres to add CDC and Orleans COVID protocols.
