New Orleans is no stranger to a fantastic pastry and French-style bread and cakes. With such a large market of bakeries, it wasn’t easy to choose our favorite ones, but we’ve finally settled to a list of our six sweetest bakeries in New Orleans.
1. Bread on Oak
This is a plant-based bakery and cafΓ© with artisan bread and pastries. Their menu is 100% vegan. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. Many people have gone so far as to call it “vegan heaven.”

2. Maple Street Patisserie
This is one of our favorite spots to hide away, enjoy a sweet treat and read a book. Don’t miss the almond croissant. It’s amazing.

3. O’Delice French Bakery
O’Delice is locally and family-owned by the Nguyen family. It’s a cozy bakery with a French flair. Their almost croissant is a go-to option!

4. Bittersweet Confections
Cold days in NOLA are just opportunities to head over to Bittersweet Confections in the Warehouse district and get hot chocolate or espresso with truffles, cupcakes, or petite chocolate cakes. All of their creations are just delicious, fresh, and have a fancy touch.

5. Bywater Bakery
Bywater was a unique, young ambiance. They usually offer their pastries with a side of live music. It’s the perfect place for a late weekend breakfast. Who says yes to crawfish bread?

6. Gracious Bakery
Don’t miss the King Cake or the breakfast sandwich. Gracious offers a warm place to sit down and eat deliciously. The prices are very reasonable!
